Latest Mahua Moitra News: On Friday morning, January 19, 2024, a team from the Estate Directorate arrived at the government home belonging to Mahua Moitra, a former MP for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). According to officials who spoke with news agency PTI, they have been ordered to leave the Mahua home.

On Friday morning, January 19, 2024, a team from the Estate Directorate arrived at the government home belonging to Mahua Moitra, a former MP for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). According to officials who spoke with news agency PTI, they have been ordered to leave the Mahua home.

As per the ABP News correspondent, the bungalow's evacuation is now underway. 9B Telegraph Lane is blocked by police on both sides, and nobody is allowed to approach the government home. Mahua Moitra was reportedly not home at this time as well.

Mahua Moitra, a disgraced Lok Sabha member, moved the Delhi High Court to challenge the order to evacuate the bungalow on January 18, 2024, but the court did not grant her respite the day before. The notice to quit the government residence had been given to him, and the court had declined to delay it.

Judge Girish Kathpalia stated during the hearing that no specific rule regarding the removal of Members of Parliament from their official house upon revocation of membership had been brought up before the court.
The court judgment states that "As of today, the petitioner (the bungalow is vacant) There is no right to request no. This is due to the ongoing matters regarding the petitioner's (Moitra) eviction before the Supreme Court and the issue of an extension of time for vacating the government accommodation." Currently, this Court does not feel that it has the authority to use Article 226 of the Constitution to stay the eviction order. The application is turned down in this manner.

On January 24, the TMC leader requested a new hearing in his appeal, in which he contested the Directorate of Estates' (DOE) eviction notice. Moitra had asked the Delhi High Court to halt the authorities' plan to expel her from the government home on the grounds of her health.

As she is a single woman receiving treatment in this hospital, a prominent leader in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party has asked not to be kicked off the property just yet. Moitra's senior attorney Brij Gupta said that the leader of the Trinamool Congress has had surgery and is being admitted to a private hospital.

Mahua's attorney claims that medical professionals have recommended that he relax. In addition, he asked the court to grant him four months, at the latest, to leave the bungalow.
