On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, the administration of New Delhi unveiled the Padma awards, the highest civilian honors in the nation, on Thursday. 110 Padma Shri, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 5 Padma Vibhushan recipients were among the 132 honorees on the list. The Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award, was given to a number of people, including megastar Konidela Chiranjeevi, former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, and well-known performer Vyjayantimala Bali.

The Padma Vibhushan was also given to the late Bindeshwar Pathak, the creator of Sulabh International, and Padma Subrahmanyam, a well-known classical dancer. Among the recipients of the third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, were singer Usha Utthup, former Union Minister Ram Naik, and actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty.

110 distinguished individuals from a range of professions and fields, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medical, literature and education, sports, and civil service, were granted the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honor. In any field, remarkable and distinguished service is recognized with the Padma awards.

Every year on Republic Day, the honors are revealed. The President of India presents the awards during ceremonial events held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, generally in March or April. Thirty of the recipients are female, and the list also contains eight foreign nationals, NRIs, PIO OCIs, and nine posthumous recipients.
