Karmma Calling Review: As the son of the Kothari family, Ahaan (Varun Sood), gets engaged to Karmma (Namratha Sheth), the laid-back seaside town of Alibaug is twinkling with fairy lights. The most powerful woman in Alibaug and mother of Ahaan, Indrani Kothari (Raveena Tandon), is the one who has the greatest mistrust for this coupling. Nothing eludes her perceptive gaze. She whispers to her future daughter-in-law that she would be observing her as she extends her greetings.
But disaster strikes when Indrani's daughter finds her brother's bloody body while playing fetch on the beach with her boyfriend.

The American thriller "Revenge" from 2011 is adapted into Ruchi Narain's tale of revenge. The narrative tells the tale of Ambika Verma, also known as Karmma Talwar (Namrata Sheth), a young lady who travels to Alibaug to exact revenge on her father for being unfairly imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. Her goal is to exact revenge on the true criminals, and the wealthy Kothari Family and Indrani, the socialite of Alibaug, are at the center of her attention.

Former Bollywood diva Indrani is wed to the wealthiest man in the world. Despite being fully aware of his infidelity, Indrani chooses to ignore it because she values the influence his wealth gives her. On"karwachauth" day, she throws extravagant parties where she even arranges for a helicopter to take her respected guests to a close-up view of the moon under overcast skies. Her influence can make or break people and their destiny. You don't meddle with a controlling mother who sets rules for her children's lives.

But everything is altered when the enigmatic Karmma shows up. She is seen as trouble by Indrani, who doesn't trust her. Karma, on the other hand, sees Indrani as her greatest enemy and the person she must eliminate.

It's campy soap opera fare with a lavish but fabricated plot that combines high society, love, and betrayal. Even still, the story moves quickly and occasionally lacks the tight suspense that such a story usually has. One is drawn in and captivated by the idea that this one lady has the power to topple the fundamental structure of Alibaug's civilization, which has devastated her own life.  It falters, nevertheless, when Namrata Sheth's Karmma, the title character, is unable to express the anger, suffering, or loss her character has experienced. The actress adopts the same attitude when she meets her long-lost puppy and when she seduces Ahaan as Indrani.

Even though having been given a wide canvas to perform, she is unable to do justice to her part.
