The Muslim side appealed the Varanasi court's decision to permit the Vyas family to do puja in Gyanvapi's tehkhana in the Allahabad High Court. The plea will be heard by the HC today, February 6.  The petition asking for a prohibition on worship in the basement of Vyas ji Tehkhana, which is housed in the Gyanvapi complex, will be heard by the court.

The order of the District Judge designating DM Varanasi as a receiver has also been contested by the Muslim side. The Varanasi District Court Judge granted permission to conduct puja in the basement on January 31. The Masjid Intezamia Committee filed the petition in the HC. The hearing will begin at noon today with Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal's single bench preside over the proceedings.

In the meantime, the petitioners and devotees on the Hindu side have asked that a bell and other puja items be installed in the Vyas ka "Tehkhana," where prayers are being said. The attorney for the Hindu side, Sudhir Tripathi, stated that the bell will be installed in the complex upon the DM's clearance.

However, Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra, stated that if these temples—Gyanvapi and Krishna Janmabhoomi—are peacefully released, the Hindu society will forget everything else. He also made a plea to the Muslim community for a nonviolent resolution involving all three of these institutions.

Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, the Hindu side's attorney in the Gyanvapi case, expressed confidence that the court will undoubtedly reject the Masjid Intezamia Committee's request challenging the Gyanvapi order.
