In November of last year, a pilot employed by Delta Airlines filed a complaint against an elevator provider after his foot was completely engulfed by a moving walkway at Denver International Airport.

The event occurred when pilot Kenneth Gow's foot unexpectedly snagged on the end of a moving walkway when he was passing through Denver Airport's Concourse A. There was no protective plate on the walkway. According to the complaint, Gow's foot was stuck in the open slot, seriously injuring his shoe, sock, and foot.

Gow, a Utah native, first brought the lawsuit against TK Elevator Corporation to Denver District Court in December of last year. A number of reasons led to its relocation to the federal district court in Colorado last month.

A missing comb plate can be seen at the end of the walkway just before Gow trips and falls, according to a video of the incident that Australian network 9News posted.

Gow received physical therapy at a Utah clinic after the event to address the pain in his left foot and ankle. According to the lawsuit, he also suffered injuries to his left shoulder as a result of the accident. According to the lawsuit, Gow's medical records indicated that he had bone contusions, strained left Achilles tendon, and swollen joints.

According to the lawsuit, he is still in excruciating agony even after receiving therapy.

The Denver Post reported that because Gow and the walkway builder firm are from separate states and the incident occurred in Colorado, he is asking more than $75,000 in damages, which is why the case was moved from state to federal court.

In addition to asking for reimbursement for medical bills, prescription drugs, hospital stays, physical therapy, and other treatments, the pilot is also requesting damages for mental and physical harm. The trial will decide the amount.

The situation brought to mind the July of last year event at Bangkok's Don Mueang airport when a woman became trapped in a travelator and rescuers had to amputate her leg.
